UTLX Union Tank Car Co. Class X-3 8,000-gallon short tank car

The Union Tank Line introduced the X-3 tank car design in 1917. This Resin Car Works kit (4.03) best reflects a series of 6.5K-gallon capacity UTLX X-3 tank cars built in 1937 by American Car & Foundry. The prototype cars were numbered 7500-9499. These cars had a different underframe from the original 1917-built X-3 cars, and they had bolted safety dome covers.

Resin Car Works thanks the following rail historians and modelers for their high quality work. Without their efforts, these kits would not have been produced.

Steve Hile – prototype research
Tom Madden – resin casting
Frank Hodina - master pattern work, kit instructions and model photos
Ken Soroos – kit instruction coordination
