Extra Data for Kit 18.0 - Midwestern Offset Hoppers
This kit has a few variations to cover prototype hoppers built in the late 1920s and early 1930s for the Illinois Central, Chicago & Illinois Midland, Great Northern, Northern Pacific, and Soo.

These 50-ton twin hopper prototypes had Enterprise side sheets and equally spaced side post extensions. Another spotting feature is the length. These hoppers were 34-ft, 9-inches long while postwar cars are 33-ft.
The following prototypes are represented by these kits.
- Illinois Central 211000-211699 - 500 cars built in 1927
- Chicago & Illinois Midland 6000-6349 - 350 cars built 1937
- Great Northern 73200-73699 - 500 cars built in 1931
- Soo Line 6100-6399 - 200 cars built in 1930
- Northern Pacific 70000-70199 - 200 cars built in 1932
